Message One of my mates had a Z with a Japanese ECU in it, specifically Central 20 "Brain".. it had one helluva an ignition advance curve. It would det like crazy (up the top) on pump fuel but with octane booster in it would survive. I was told by a very reliable source that the chip GAINED 20kw@Wheels on the dyno compared to the JWT chip for the SAME boost level. That explains top end power.

Also by increasing the ignition advance you can increase engine power across the board. An example being on my car when I run racegas I get much sharper midrange pull before it comes on boost, whereas on pump gas it pinks slightly and doesn't pull quite as nice. (meaning that the chip in my car has too aggressive a curve for pump fuel, I'd like to advance it 2-3 degrees at 3000-5000 revs at .2bar but alas alak I'm waiting for my new engine w Link)

And a third example. 230kw@wheels pump ignition curve, 248@wheels racegas ignition curve on one of my mates custom written chips (2x chips, one for race one for pump).. now here I'll laugh my tits off as it took the dyno tuner who custom made the maps for that car did it in 1 -one -uno day. The car is still very much driveable.

So whos going to change their ignition curve then :)

Besides which the stock Z turbos are pretty much fuxored by the time you go past 16psi anyway.. you're just unneccasirly choking the exhaust gasses and heating up the intake air.

Buy a LINK get it tuned right. Laugh all the way to the track.
